We raised this big bay mare from a foal, and she has plenty of experience on the neighborhood trails. She's our 13-year-old daughter's favorite trail horse, and they also enjoy just going for a little bareback lope around the pasture.
Brixey is stable and dependable; for example, we use her to pony our weanlings for their first trip across the "scary" ford on Little Pine Creek. Some of them put up quite a tussle, but Brixey just forges ahead, giving them no choice but to get their little feet wet and learn that creeks aren't that bad after all.
Although Brixey is healthy and strong for riding, we are retiring her for use as brood mare, which is why we are reluctantly looking for a new home for this long-time friend. She is open and ready to go on the trail, with many years of good riding still in front of her.
